Chapter 16

Sienna sat up in the truck pulling her clothing straight. She couldn’t believe she had just had sex with Travis. Now it was over, the full enormity of what she had done began to sink in. It was like a bad dream, but the evidence spilling out, from between her legs told her otherwise. She suddenly felt sick, she hadn’t wanted this to happen, she hated him, couldn’t stand him, and now on top of all that she hated herself.

How had she been so stupid? The thought of him touching Tara the way he had touched her repelled her, God, her mind was fucked up with images of the pair of them. She looked across as Travis who was pulling on his T-shirt and glared.

Travis felt heaviness in the pit of his stomach. The arguing and the bickering fuelling the passion. It hadn’t happened out of love, it had just been lust. He had never been able to resist Sienna, there was just something so appealing and desirable about her, but that was all. He loved Tara. He thought of her beautiful face and felt ill. God, if she ever found out—he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her. That would be unbearable. He turned to meet Sienna’s glare.

“Keep your fucking mouth shut about this, okay? It was a mistake,” he informed her.

Sienna’s mouth dropped open. “For your information, I don’t want this getting back to anyone either. If anyone found out I’d fucked Barney, I’d be a laughing stock,” she said, putting on her seat belt.

Travis narrowed his gaze at her. “I don’t know what I ever fucking saw in you.” he turned on the ignition and the truck roared to life.

Sienna sat rigidly. “Trust me, the feelings mutual,” she said, in a bitter tone.

Travis pulled out onto the main road, managing to keep to the speed limits his nerves rattled at what they had just done.

For the rest of the ride back they drove in silence, both lost in their own thoughts. Communications having broken down to such a point they couldn’t even look at one another.

Travis walked back into the warehouse, the full realisation of what he had done eating away at him.

Sienna dashed past him, heading for the stairs, her head down, no doubt feeling as shitty as he was.

He could hear Tara’s voice coming from the kitchen and headed that way. Her amber eyes lit up upon seeing him and it only made him feel worse. What the hell had he been thinking?

That was half his problem, he acted first, thought about the consequences later.

She ran towards him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him.

“Hello stranger, I missed you.” she smiled happily.

He kissed her back, hoping he didn’t have Sienna’s scent on him and let his hand’s rest on her ass. “I missed you too.”

Tara seemed pleased with his response. “You did?”

Travis caressed her cheekbone. “Of course, I did. Today was hell, Sienna drove me crazy—I wanted to kill her.”

Tara laughed stroking the back of his neck, sending shivers of pleasure down his spine.
